A curated collection of goodies that I fully endorse for your creative endeavors.

Rob

Papermate Flair Pen

Flair.jpg

One of my favorite pens to analog sketch with. The tip is perfectly tuned for laying down crisp think edges. The older pens in  your collection you will find are great for creating a popped thicker line for rendering outlines.

Fisher Space Pen

Designed and engineered for space. This pen has never let me down. It's a great all-around ballpoint pen for sketching, BUT it' writes underwater, upside down, backward, in a vat of jelly, or on your baby's face. They're great!

The Field Guide to User-Centered Design

Imperative for any designer that takes themselves seriously to know this book and its methodologies through and through. Approaching problem-solving with empathy for the user will be the biggest gift you will ever give to your users.

If you're searching for inspiration, look no further. Mother nature has had 3.8 billion years or so to cunningly craft very specialized traits across millions of plants and animals. This is the place to look for your next great idea.

There's no question that when it comes to taking your ideas from napkin and bum-wad to the digital world I would pick anything but the Cintiq! Wacom products have been a go-to product for me for the past 17 years. Just get it.

Honestly, not JUST for cameras. I use my pack nearly every day. Travel? Yep. Work? Yep. Weekend adventures? Oh, yea. I love this pack. It has more modular pockets and baffles than you could ever want to separate and protect your work. Get one and you'll see! ;)

This one's a no-brainer. I prefer the dotted version for easier note-taking and concept sketching. It's always in my pack.

Don't huff these! Basically, if your'e not using AD markers for your color renderings, then F*ck you. Kidding! They are my favorite, though. Highly endorsed.

Not sure what manufacturing technique to use? Check this book out. It has really great visualizations of a ton of manufacturing processes. They're categorized so you can search quickly and just a fun coffee table book to have out.

Bose QuietComfort 20 Noise Cancelling Headphones

I can't understate how great these headphones are. Of course, everyone knows Bose, but these are exceptional at canceling all the unwanted noise in your surroundings out so that you can stay engaged with your art! I usually wear them all day.
